Hear me Out!
Often time music is accompanied by a unique style of dance. Just as hip-hop can be associated with a type of break dancing, other genres of music have their own unique form of dance as well. Take for example Salsa music.
Salsa music has African and Spanish origins but is most often traced back to its Cuban roots. In the 1930s 40s and 50s it made its way across the Caribbean, transforming all along the way. As it moved from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and landed in New York, it took on a new sound that we recognize today as Salsa. A typical composition of conga drums, trombones, bass guitar, saxophone and other instruments, when played together to a rhythm create the music for Salsa dance.
